In this time of a pandemic, how easy is it to have patience? The word alone uttered by you, or someone else can make you feel impatient and angry. How difficult is it to try and move forward day after day in the middle of the COVID-19 pandemic. Only our very basic needs are met and we are filled with anxiety, frustration and no action on the part of equitable solutions?

We would only be in denial if we were to say that we have patience during this crisis, especially if we live with family or roommates. It is REAL, an unpleasant fact of life – and no timeline is solidified by our leaders, be it the President or our Scientist, the CDC or the News media. It’s like a Trivia Pursuit game with no answers on the back of the cards…a guessing game for sure.

There is only one thing you can do, which you will probably hate because you can’t win. FEEL THE REALITY AND SURRENDER TO IT.

This means you will have to embrace those nagging feelings again of anger, frustration, anxiety and pride. You have to feel the feelings as strongly as warranted for the situation. In combat, soldiers sit and wait in disciplined patience before reacting to the hidden enemy who finally shows itself. They are in fear of death, of never seeing their family again, many already living in the PTSD (Post-Traumatic Stress Disease) epidemic. Perhaps our nurses, doctors and caregivers of today’s pandemic may be on the brink of experiencing this PTSD, as it is not just associated with soldiers. It associates with Trauma, Shock and inevitable circumstances that impact our life. The journey back to normalcy will be an extended treatment of patience and surrendering to those feelings, so that they can be healed. It is all a part of Grief & Loss.

Go ahead and feel the feelings. Feel the anger and frustration, and feel the impatience. Admit to your fears for yourself and your family.

COVA-19 may last for several more months. As long as we surrender to that unpleasant fact, we can look for avenues to learn patience. The new “normal” that will promote self-care.

Talk to loved ones, if you’re tired, exercise to burn off that restless energy, listen to soothing music that contributes to your peaceful state, and therein – you will find your quiet patience.

Yesterday and Today



It has been a good while since I have written on my website. I stepped away from my business for a couple of years to work full time in the Corporate World and the World of Academia. I cannot begin to tell you how much I have learned since doing so, even though I had worked in the Communications/Media field for so many years. However, I am back in a small attempt to help people in a time of crisis by writing about it.

Among my experiences over the years, I trained to be a Certified Grief Recovery Specialist. For several years, I worked with several individuals, associations, church members and groups,who wanted to learn how to cope as a result of suffering the loss of a loved one or any type of loss.

The world is in a time of extreme crisis right now and we all can relate to a Pandemic we now know as the Corona Virus or COVID-19. World-wide we have all heard of it, share it, get-it, try to avoid it, succumb to it and some are dying from it.

Which brings me back to why I am back to writing blogs as of today. I have accrued many skills and this site was designed to illustrate that to promote my business as a Virtual Assistant working from home. What brings me back? The COVID-19 crisis that is running ramp-id today and I sit home in quarantine like so many, wondering what I could do to help. It then came to me that I could offer my services by just listening. Listening to anyone and everyone that is suffering loss right now. Not only the loss associated with death, but the suffering associated with the loss of jobs, paychecks, family togetherness, activities, learning, social isolation, students missing their pathways of growth and socialization and in particular, students who are losing their rites of passage such as Prom and Graduation and the loss of celebration for their hard work.

Our students/children are learning the hard way that life isn’t fair. It can be destructive, and challenging to our mental health. It can be contagious so easily in life and death. But it can also be shared and conquered by learning new lessons, finding new growth and spiritual healing and finally, sharing in the healing of all countries world-wide. THE ENTIRE WORLD IS UNITED IN OUR GRIEF RIGHT NOW…tied together by an International and National crisis that no one can deny or run from – with only one goal in mind...Survival.

I am going to add a second header to my website for awhile. No cost, no promotions, no complaints or preaching. Just an invite to listen to anyone that needs to vent about their losses, feelings or suffering, and if there is any thread of hope or support I can provide, I will humbly do so.
